A Journey from Pain to Strength Hello, my name is Meegan Rubin and I am the founder and creator of Aireforme . This innovative method emerged from my personal experiences with unresolved pain in my body.
To provide some context, I was born with a congenital defect that caused my femur bones to retrovert outward, necessitating the use of corrective braces to align my legs properly. Despite this early challenge, I embraced my passion for dance and never looked back.
As I advanced in my dancing career, I encountered significant physical challenges, including joint weakness that led to arthritis, herniated discs, and degenerative disc disorder. The pain I experienced ultimately curtailed my dancing career. In my quest to alleviate this pain, I turned to Pilates, which provided me with a solid foundation for deep body work and core strength development. The spine corrector proved to be invaluable in strengthening my lower back and neck.
After teaching Pilates for several years, I opened LibertyMeDanceCenter , where I aimed to integrate both Pilates and dance. Many of my students struggled with flexibility and core strength, prompting me to incorporate resistance training. While this approach was beneficial, I recognized that the resistance bands needed to engage more directly from the core.
This realization led me to conceptualize a method that combined the spine corrector with resistance training. Remarkably, we observed significant progress over a short period. However, when the COVID-19 pandemic struck, it became a pivotal moment for me to move forward with my vision. With everyone confined to their homes and the future uncertain, I felt compelled to take action and create a comprehensive solution.
I designed an ergonomic wave form that accommodates the natural S-curve of the spine and neck, complemented by bands that align with the shoulders and hips. This innovative approach enhances performance by uniting the spine corrector and resistance training. At 52 years of age, I can confidently say that I feel stronger and more in control of my body than I did in my twenties. This is merely the beginning of our journey!
